Honoring the Women of IAHD and the World March 9, 2025

IAHD acknowledged International Women’s Month during March, including International Women’s Day on the 8th, at our day programs. Keep reading to see the different ways they celebrated women in the IAHD community and around the world.

Our artists at Tarrytown Day Hab did a series of projects inspired by a few different female artists. They first did projects in the style of Nina Chanel Abney, making graphic collages using bold colors and shapes like she often does.

Later in the month, they based their work on Judy Chicago’s piece, ‘The Dinner Party’. Each artists chose a person they would invite to their own dinner party and used that as the basis for their vibrant pieces!

Meanwhile, at Bainbridge Day Hab, staff and the people we support wore purple on March 8th in acknowledgment of International Women’s Day and to show their support for the amazing women from IAHD and in their personal lives.
