A Delicious Collaboration between IAHD Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow High School August 3, 2024
At the beginning of August, IAHD collaborated with students in the Experiential Learning program at Sleepy Hollow High School (SHHS) to create a delicious garden-to-table lunch! A handful of IAHD staff and individuals met up with these students and their advisors at their school. There, they got to know a bit about each other and the Experiential Learning program, spending much of their time in the garden that the students maintain. SHHS was kind enough to let us have some of the many tomatoes they had grown to incorporate into a meal they would share in just a few days.
Later that week, it as IAHD Tarrytown’s turn to host. Before having lunch, students and IAHD Tarrytown individuals each painted their own ceramic summer vases. By the time they had all finished, lunch was ready to be served! IAHD Tarrytown chefs made a variety of dishes full of veggies grown here in the 10591 area including the tomatoes they were gifted, eggplants, and zucchini. Even the pickiest of eaters devoured the food, which you can see below.
We are so excited to have new friends from SHHS and look forward to making more memories (and meals!) with them in the future! Thank you to all who made this possible!
