Looking to the Future and Beyond July 31, 2024
On July 26, members of the IAHD Champions from Tarrytown and Bainbridge attended the 2024 Self Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS) NYC-Westchester Regional Conference in Manhattan. This year’s conference theme was ‘Looking to the Future and Beyond’. Our Champions spent their morning and afternoon listening to keynote speakers, participating in workshops, and sharing meals with fellow self-advocates from the area.
At last year’s regional conference, the Champions won Self-Advocacy Group of the Year for this region. This year, they had another major win! Jodi P., secretary of the IAHD Champions and member of the IAHD Board of Directors was named the NYC-Westchester region Self-Advocate of the Year! We could not be prouder of Jodi and all she does for herself, her fellow Champions, the IAHD community, and the world!

A few days later, we were able to present Jodi with her award at the luau held at IAHD Tarrytown. Congratulations Jodi!
