IAHD Staff Leading the Way January 29, 2026
IAHD managerial and senior administrative staff had the opportunity to participate in various trainings during the month of January, including a Mindful Habit Building Workshop and The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) Personal Outcomes Measure (POMS) Workshop.
At IAHD, all senior leaders, managers, administrators, area coordinators, nursing staff, and directors attend quarterly leadership meetings led by our training department with the purpose of bringing IAHD leadership together in a shared space for training, collaborating, and learning. At the first of these quarterly meetings of 2026, attendees participated in a Mindful Habit Building Workshop. This workshop focused on the topics of collaboration, flexibility, and courage. In small groups, staff collaborated to think of ways to advance our mission at IAHD, reflect on how they view themselves as leaders, and consider what they hope to achieve in 2026. It was an extremely productive day, and we hope that the other three meetings this year follow suit!

At the end of January, over 50 IAHD staff members attended a two-day POMS workshop. At the end of this workshop, the staff who completed it will be able to conduct interviews with the people IAHD supports in person-centered interviews focused on what’s important to them and how we are able to help them achieve their goals. Thank you to Gabi Opazo, Erin Hopkins, and Kayla Turner for leading such an engaging and important training!
