Making Musical Memories with the Concordia Conservatory May 18, 2024

🎼 Throughout the spring, residents from multiple IAHD residences attended concerts held by Concordia Conservatory. Whether it be in Bronxville, NY or Stamford, CT, the people we support had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the arts, specifically music and visual arts.

🎹 In mid-March, individuals from our Yorktown residence attended a Stamford concert with the theme, “Expression of Emotions through Music”. After watching the performance, they created a collaborative art piece by drawing things that made them feel happy on a piece of paper, to ultimately put these parts together and form a circle.

🎺 Yorktown also attended the May 4th concert in Stamford. This concert’s theme was “Gratitunes”. Similarly to the March concert, they participated in a creative visual arts session after listening to the others perform. For this particular show, they made paper flowers and gave it to whom they liked to give it as a sign of gratitude.

🥁 Residents at Leland also attended a concert on May 4, but in Bronxville. Check them out making some music of their own!
