Abstract Art with ArtsWestchester June 15, 2025

In collaboration with ArtsWestchester, individuals at our Tarrytown program participated in a Visual Art Workshop led by teaching artist Miguel Cossio over the span of four weeks.

One of the projects the Tarrytown artists worked on was individual pieces made using tape and paint. Each week, the tape was placed in a different design and painted over with a new color. You can see the final pieces and the artists who made them below!

As a group, the artists worked on a second project where they were encouraged to use paint and varied tools on wall-sized canvas. Each week, they added more, resulting in a unique collaborative piece.

All the art made in this workshop is now hanging in IAHD’s Dynamic Arts Gallery. The opening reception of this show was held on Wednesday, September 10th. To visit the gallery and see this art in person, either stop in during regular gallery hours on Thursdays and Fridays, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm or schedule an appointment with Johnny at (914) 640-9002.

Thank you to ArtsWestchester and Miguel for this amazing and fun opportunity!
