All Around IAHD: October 2025 November 1, 2025
🍴 Lots of fun was had at the annual āLuncheon with People with Differing Abilitiesā at St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale on Saturday, October 18. Nearly 50 IAHD residents and staff from many different homes enjoyed a delicious lunch with delectable desserts, played games, and danced and sang along to live music. We left with full bellies, goodie bags, and smiles!

🖼️ IAHDās Dynamic Arts Gallery held an art show at Tarrytownās Warner Library that included artwork from some of the talented artists who attend all three-day programs. The show began at the beginning of the month, but the opening reception for it was held on October 29.

🐕🦺 The people we support at our Bainbridge Day Hab made a new canine friend named Eddie Spaghetti– accompanied by his human, the Tuckahoe Chief of Police, Chief Rotta– through the Puppies Behind Bars (PBB) program. This program allows incarcerated individuals to help raise and train dogs to be service animals for a variety of groups in need. Thank you to IAHD CEO Omayra Andino for putting IAHD in contact with PBB and allowing more of our individuals experience the positive impacts of pet therapy!

🏆 Hector, one of the people we support at our Tarrytown day program and our Armonk residence, received the 2025 Marie Osterer Award from the Pioneer Social Club at Cerebral Palsy of Westchester. This award is given each year to a club member who has made strides to live life to the fullest. Congratulations, Hector!
