All Around IAHD: February 2026 March 1, 2026
🏈 Some of the IAHD residences threw fabulous Super Bowl Parties! On the left is Leland’s festive feast. In the gallery below was the party held by the Ryer residence that several of the men at Yorktown also attended. As you can see, many of the people at Ryer’s celebration were excited to see Bad Bunny’s halftime show!
🦽 Through the activities organized by the group Team Bonding for their corporate retreat, employees at Pfizer from all over the world worked together to build nine new wheelchairs and no-sew blankets to be gifted to IAHD and used at the day programs and residences. On top of this, the new relationship with Pfizer has led them to become sponsor for IAHD’s Annual Fundraising Event this June!
🐶 With day programs closed due to President’s Day, IAHD used some of the space at Bainbridge to host a visit with Pups Behind Bars. The organization brought five puppies to an empty Bainbridge, and residence managers could sign up for their individuals to spend some time with the dogs in small groups. Thank you to all who made this meaningful opportunity possible for the people we support!
📢 On Tuesday, February 10, individuals and staff from our Tarrytown and St. Mary’s day programs went to Albany to participate in a statewide Lobby Day at the state Capitol. This event, hosted by the Interagency Council (IAC), brings advocates from across the state together in Albany to meet with lawmakers and push for policy changes that affect their lives and services.
