All Around IAHD: August 2025 September 1, 2025
⭐️ Jodi, IAHD board member and Self-Advocate, recently had the opportunity to go to Albany for a few days to attend the Cultural and Linguistic Competence Leadership Academy hosted by the Georgetown University National Center for Cultural Competence. At the end of the course, she and her peers got to celebrate their achievement at a final luncheon and certificate ceremony. Congratulations to Jodi!
🧢Throughout the summer, individuals from our day habilitation and Day Habilitation Without Walls (DHWW) programs discovered their inner fashion designer when they had the opportunity to design their very own trucker hat using paints and stencils!

🍔 On August 12, our day habilitation programs (Tarrytown, St. Mary’s Day Hab Without Walls, and Bainbridge) came together to have a summer BBQ at the IAHD DeVito Conference Center in Pleasantville!
🍉 IAHD brought back Fresh Fruit Fridays for this summer! For nine Fridays throughout June, July, and August, IAHD cabinet members went to each of our day programs to share one of three delicious and nutritious fruit-based recipes with them: fruit salad, parfaits, and smoothies. This was a great way for our staff to be active participants in our organizational wellness initiatives!
