IAHD is committed to positively impacting the lives of every adult with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities that we support. The funds raised from last year’s event enabled IAHD to do exactly that via our new Wellness Program. This has allowed IAHD to implement activities like yoga and mindfulness classes, fitness sessions, pet therapy, and more to all IAHD day habilitation programs. The impact has been incredible!
As government funding for organizations like IAHD becomes more limited, we supplement this through fundraising efforts. We are proud to say that over 90 cents of every dollar donated to IAHD goes directly towards innovative programming like our Wellness Program. All of us at IAHD are grateful for any and all contributions, as it allows us to continue our mission in helping all the people we support live fulfilled lives.

Matthew Kiamie
Outstanding Leadership Award
Matthew Kiamie’s belief in hard work together with personal and professional integrity has not only served to fortify long-standing relationships, but also to engender new ones. Matthew exhibits extraordinary leadership skills, guiding the IAHD board, employees, & supporters with integrity and significantly contributing to the organization’s growth. IAHD has been very important to the Kiamie family for over 40 years. As the board chairperson since 2020, he works to inspire & ensure IAHD remains focused on its important mission. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, singing, playing guitar, and anything baseball. You can check out a song he wrote for IAHD here.

Inner Being Yoga
Community Partner Award
Inner Being is dedicated to inclusivity, specializing in care for individuals with special needs while promoting well-being for all. Through adaptive wellness programs, sensory-friendly experiences, and mindful self-care products, Inner Being fosters balance, healing, and empowerment for every individual, regardless of ability.
IAHD's partnership with Inner Being began a year ago. Yoga and mindfulness were initially introduced to the Tarrytown Day Program. Upon seeing the success and impact that it had on the individuals there, the program expanded throughout IAHD. Inner Being developed adaptive equipment to allow for people of all abilities to participate.
