Our Day Services and Individualized Supports program assists individuals with helping to achieve personal dreams by offering creative activities specifically tailored to one’s interests. At the March Senior Staff meeting, IAHD’s Administration recognized Laura Lugo for her excellent performance on the job. This dedicated employee was recognized for her “willingness to do anything to help achieve the agency’s mission.” In her nearly ten years of employment at IAHD, Laura has worked as a monitor in transportation, as a door monitor at the Tarrytown site and as an assistant in the Human Resources Department. The winter for most of us is a time to hibernate, hunker down until spring arrives. Winter can be a season full of beauty and contrasts. On Wednesday February 8, the day before the NY metro area got slammed with a snowstorm, the moon was nearly full and the temperature was a balmy 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The Briarcliff Manor that evening, was turned into an art gallery featuring local artists and artisans alongside artwork created by our IAHD Day program participants -- paintings, jewelry and ceramics. As this was the week before Valentine's Day the artists, artisans, musicians and venue pulled out all the stops to create a memorable evening to benefit IAHD.READ STORY
