Position: Entitlements Specialist/Social Services Worker
Reports to: Director of Social and Family Services
Hours of Work: 40 Hours Per Week
General Duties:
- Responsible for ensuring that all IAHD consumers are
properly
supported in securing required Medicaid, Medicare and social security - Secure all of required paperwork that is entitlement
related and submit such to the billing office - Work closely with the billing office in ensuring that
unpaid bills and remittance statements are followed up on. - Work with OMRDD, Revenue Support Office and NYCRO to ensure
the all consumers are properly enrolled in the right program codes - Conduct remittance statement analysis and recommend and
take appropriate corrective actions - Escort parents and consumers to Medicaid, Social Security
Administration office as needed. - Work closely with all stakeholders including the DDSO,
NYCRO, parents, other providers in ensuring that benefits are well managed - Research all issues related to benefits and offer solutions
- Provide family and social services support to the Director
of Social and Family Services in the area of outreach, casework, family
support, MSC and records
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree from an Accredited College or University in a social
science or administrative area and a minimum of three years experience
with people with developmental disability. Knowledge of government
(CMS) and private benefits. Masters Degree preferred with one year experience
